Magic Box History

Historical workshops that take you through a magic portal to another time and place.

After 10 years of experience as a historical re-enactor working extensively with primary school groups at Sheffield Museums and Castell Henllys, Beth now brings history to your school or venue!

Her workshops are immersive, educational experiences that develop creative, curious learners and help them respond to history by imaginative connecting to a different time period.

The session was so engaging and educational. So lovely to join in with the songs and stories. Bishop’s House – Tudor Christmas

Whether looking for a lost suitcase during the evacuation, riding the high seas with Viking warriors or buying and selling goods at the agora in ancient Greece, Beth uses her experience with drama, storytelling and music to bring history to life!

As a facilitator, Beth champions a way of connecting to the past through suspending disbelief and transporting ourselves to real life places, stories and events and through this deciding what we do and don’t share with our ancestors.

Excellent research and resources mean throughout the session there will be opportunities to make traditional crafts with authentic materials, learn period language terms and expressions, experience horrible history facts, listen to musical instruments and sing rousing songs!

“Excellent Viking workshop! The children were hooked in from the start. Loved the interactiveness of the first session and the hands on second part. Will book next year.”
